It seems that, after the Secret Service sex scandal, politicians and other government officials would learn to pay their hookers the full amount agreed upon. There is nothing worse than a hooker scorned.
And now it happens again. According to the Daily Caller, Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), has now been caught up in a similar situation in the Dominican Republic. Menendez is up for reelection but he currently holds a commanding lead over his republican opponent Joe Kyrillos. Will this change?
And here (see 1:55) is Robert Menendez saying the Secret Service agents should be fired, if true, for soliciting prostitutes. Keep in mind that Menendez serves on the “Subcommittee on International Operations and Organizations, Human Rights, Democracy, and Global Women’s Issues”. Global Women’s Issues… Priceless.
Headline on MSNBC: “Humanitarian Robert Menendez Reaches Out To Help Underprivileged Dominicans”.
It seems that traditionally liberal media outlets are beginning to post articles that are questioning Dear Leader.
First, an editorial in the New York Times by Ross Douthat entitled “Obama’s Aura of Defeat”
Second, the cover of The New Yorker Magazine after the first presidential debate depicting Obama as the “empty chair”.
Finally, and probably most hard hitting, CNN’s Erin Burnett (previously with msnbc no less) did this video segment completely deconstructing the Obama administration’s glossy 20-page pamphlet plan for a second term, which contains nothing new.
Frightening tweets have been emerging over the past few days by self-described “Black people” threatening to “riot” and “fuck shit up” if Romney is elected. These are not a few here and there tweets, but thousands of them. And rioting and rampage are just the beginning. Going even further are tweets threatening to assassinate Romney if he is elected.
Liberal hate speech has long been a part of American politics. While usually not discussed or brought to light, there are hundreds of examples. How can these threatening tweets be made and published with no investigation and no wide media coverage? The hypocrisy of leftists in trying to either downplay or deny this issue altogether is jaw-dropping given how they routinely try to portray conservatives as violent and extremist. Can tweets not be traced to the tweeter? Aren’t public threats to destroy property, harm individuals, kill individuals, much less to assassinate a presidential candidate illegal?
On a related note, during the second presidential debate, Romney made a comment concerning gun control that fully automatic weapons are illegal to own. In fact, that is incorrect. Individuals may jump through a few hoops and own a fully automatic weapon manufactured prior to 1986. Just a thought.
Also, for investors out there, Smith and Wesson’s stock symbol is SWHC and Ruger’s stock symbol is RGR. (Links are to one year charts). Both stocks have had impressive gains for a one year period. Just another thought.
Hillary Clinton fell on the sword and took responsibility for lack of security in Libya but implaed Obama by saying white house is not involved in national security decisions. Compare this to her “the buck stops in the oval office” remarks on the 2008 campaign trail.
Today though, Hillary says the national security buck stops with her and that the buck does not even make it to the white house. She comes out and takes responsibility for the lack of security but not for the administration blaming the Libyan attack on a spontaneous demonstration resulting from outrage over a youtube video that is blocked to view by the government of those demonstrators. She knew the story, she knew it was a lie but it wasn’t her lie. But earlier, she participated in the lie in her remarks at the casket receiving ceremony of the fallen. But, while taking that responsibility for lack of security, she tells the country that the President of the United States is not involved in national security decisions.
Was she trying to give Obama breathing room for the debate or did she just give Romney ammo for the debate? Did she just hang Obama out to dry on the way down? Did she throw him under the bus? Does this smell like Slick Willy?
A little known court case has made its way to the SCOTUS that may affect our ability to sell anything that was not made in the US. We have stuff, we need to sell stuff. But we may no longer be able to sell items that were not made in the US on ebay, craigslist, swap meets, garage sales etc.
Kirtsaeng v. John Wiley & Sons is a case set to be heard in the Supreme Court during this term that challenges the Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that held you would need permission to sell anything made not made in the United States. The case stems from a student from Thailand who purchased text books published by John Wiley & Sons publishing that were sold much cheaper in Thailand than in the US. The books were purchased the cheaper price in Thailand by friends and relatives and then shipped to the student who, in turn, resold the books in the US netting a profit of over $1M. Good for him. Or not.
The publisher sued the student for violation of what is known as the “first sale doctrine”. If this decision is upheld by SCOTUS, anything from your old ipod to your grandma’s jewelry from Spain would not be resalable. Good luck with that.
During a May 17th fundraiser in Boca Raton, Florida, Mitt Romney made the following comments which are now becoming public and, for some reason, a big deal.
“There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.” And that, “[M]y job is is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”
The statement regarding not paying income taxes came from a 2011 Brookings Institution report (it was stated as 46% there). And while certainly many of the stated 47% do pay other taxes and fees, it is true that, due to the income tax structure, the vast majority pay no income taxes.
I am not sure what part of that statement the presstitutes find objectionable. But, for Dear Leader’s presstitutes, this is the beginning of the end for Romney.
Egan-Jones dropped US credit rating from AA to AA- following a third round of quantitative easing by Ben Bernanke and the Federal Reserve. (I’m sure you heard this on the tv national news… maybe not, as no one covered it). While not as well known as Standard and Poors or Moody, this may be a glance at things to come. “Egan-Jones has been ahead of the pack for a while,” Joe Saluzzi, co-manager of trading at Themis Trading told CNBC. This may be a glimpse of things to come.
A finite, specified amount of TARP, QE1, and QE2 did not work. So QE3 is open-ended at the rate of $40 billion dollars per month of new debt purchases. Maybe forever. Note that interest on the national debt is over $90 billion dollars per month. This is one more last gasp effort by government trying to create jobs by spending money. And it is a macro global economy participating, from Germany, to the ECB (European Central Bank), to China, to Japan, who are all doing open-ended bond buying, further devaluing the dollar and sending commodities sky high (read: go long oil, gold, and other commodities).
I had a pickup truck that would not stay running. I decided the best thing to do was to keep pouring gas in the carburetor to keep it running. It would run for a bit, then die, then I would pour more gas in the carb and it would run for a bit, die, and then I would pour more gas in the carb. Then I finally realized the fuel pump was broken. I replaced that and it ran great. But there is no fuel pump ever manufactured that can repair the fuel failure our economy is facing.
No amount of Federal VAT (value added tax) and no amount of increased tax on the rich will fix this. Defaulting on our national debt through a managed bankruptcy, to me, is our only option. Remember, we have the strongest military in the world. Whatcha gonna do? Huh? Let’s see if anyone in elected office agrees with that.
