Suspected Terrorist Attempts Attack On New York Federal Reserve

I wonder if this qualifies as a potential act of terrorism? Or maybe it is just another result of a youtube movie.

Earlier today, a 21 year old man from Queens, New York was arrested after he drove over 1000 pounds of what he believed was explosives in a van and parked it outside the New York Federal Reserve and pushed the blow up button in an attempt to disrupt the American economy and aid al qaeda.  This was another FBI undercover scheme where they find a gihadist and provide him with all the fake materials he needs to commit his crime of choice.  At least he is off the streets.  Story here.

Update: reports are now stating the initial target was to be Obama and that this is the result of a three month investigation.  Interesting timing for the climax.

Eleven Years

One particular author struck me with her remembrance of the eleventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks. We all have  heard the multitude of stories of the heroism, the fear, the  terror, and have seen the horrific images of that day. And we hear them every year on September 11th as we remember where we were, what we were doing, and those we may have known who  were affected.

The author is Sarah Hoyt and I would like to repost part of  her post entitled “Eleven Years” here, and a link to the full  article is at bottom.

Speaking of the heroes of Flight 93, Ms. Hoyt wrote:

“… where the three burly and brave guys who spearheaded the  fight back in flight 93 were a born again man, a Jewish man,  and a gay man.  Can you imagine any group designed to give  more heart burn to the enemies that brought down the towers  and who tried to use flight 93 as a weapon?

I can’t either.  But, more importantly, I can’t imagine any  other culture, any other country, any other place where those  three would have banded together, immediately – instinctively  – putting aside any perceived differences, thinking only of  trying to save the defenseless, laying down their lives for  others.

Their lives were forfeit, but they died free men.  They died  heroes.  More importantly, they died Americans.

Surely a nation that produces such men will not perish from  this Earth.

We will not go quietly into that good night.

We’re the land of the free and the home of the brave.  And we  will stand.”

Moving the Blog

I am moving this blog from a local forum site where it started as a forum post. I like alternative, verifiable views on stories that may or may not have been reported by the mainstream media outlets.  Government, politics, crime, cat videos… so let’s start with a couple of those.
And for anyone interested in previous posts, please see
